I am a seasoned therapist that has worked with individuals of all ages, families, couples and groups. I have trained over three dozen therapists and have seen how each therapist is different and has something to offer.   What I think are my gifts are to hear what the problems are and help the client feel better and make changes.  I like to have fun doing therapy, even if we are doing hard work.  I have seen even one session make a huge difference in someone's life.  Sometimes just talking out loud about something with someone besides yourself or others in your life makes a huge difference.  I also try to be straight to the point.  I began as a therapist in Women's Shelters and often we did amazing work in one or a few sessions.  And we never knew how long a client would be there before they might relocate or go back to a difficult home environment.  So, I developed a style that was quick and to the point AND deep and meaningful.  That is what I try to do.  Of course, sometimes we have time and don't have to rush.  I still like to rush, lol.  Why not feel better this week?  Healing is not just something "out there", it is here and now.  And, sometimes there are layers and much to do that also helps.  But let's find the foundation to feel better now, as we look to do the deeper work as well.  And let's enjoy that road, because healing is natural.

About me.  I have been married for 30 years; we met in college at University of California, Santa Cruz in the late 80's.  I have two sons, both in college (law school and undergraduate).  I have an in-person practice in Paso Robles, and I've discovered on-line therapy is awesome too- so I offer online as well. 

 

I am so excited to have Eric Burke, AMFT, APCC, Morgan Stong, AMFT,  and more recently Gianna Scolini, AMFT and Julie Such, AMFT in my practice.  Julie and Gianna have offices in the Bay Area: Berkeley and Walnut Creek.  They are all terrific therapists and I am honored they have chosen to work with me as they are finishing their hours for next steps in their careers.  I've supervised a lot of therapists over the years and I only work with therapists that I consider the best.  Kind, smart, thoughtful, grounded and great professionals- I learn so much from them.
